Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)

The South African Society for Microbiology (SASM) is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the advancement of microbiological sciences in South Africa. Its members comprise microbiologists employed in universities, institutes, industry and government as well as student and corporate members.

SASM respects the privacy of all members and is committed to using all information responsibly. As a registered SASM member (affiliated, corporate, ordinary, or student) it is accepted that that you have consented to be part of this society and that you undertake to comply with this act.

If you are happy to remain a registered SASM member and continue to receive updates, you do not have to take any action. Please note that membership fees will not be reimbursed upon deregistration.
