The Postdoctoral fellowship will involve designing and optimising a large-scale combination biocontrol (i.e. predatory bacteria and /or bacteriophages in combination with solar disinfection/solar pasteurization) at the pilot-scale level. Hereafter, the most efficient large-scale biocontrol/solar reactor treatment system combination will be validated in field trials and the health risk of exposure to MDR and XDR ESKAPE strains persisting after treatment will be estimated using risk assessment models.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Work independently and collaboratively to achieve the objectives of the project
• Perform co-supervisory duties of Hons and MSc students within the research group
• Contribute to the writing and submission of articles to scientific journals
• Assist with the co-writing of funding applications
