After our successful introductory course to next generation sequencing and bioinformatics held at SANBI at the University of the Western Cape in April 2012 in conjunction with IMBM and Roche Diagnostics we are happy to announce that we are running this course again this year along with two advanced courses.

IMBMFor 2013 we are running three courses:

Introductory course (12th-14th August 2013) that introduces the concepts of next generation sequencing along with introducing a number of various bioinformatics approaches and tools for the analysis of next-generation sequencing data.

RocheTwo advanced courses (15th and 16th August, running in parallel) addressing the analysis of amplicon based next generation sequencing data as well as a course covering de novo assembly.
Note: Completion of the introductory course (in either 2012 or 2013) is a prerequisite for attendance of either of the advanced courses.

SANBIThere is a minimal registration cost of R250 (R450 for two courses) for attendance of these courses and all coffees and lunches will be provided (kindly sponsored by Roche Diagnostics).

Application for these courses is currently open and will close at midnight on July 12th.
Numbers are limited for all courses and thus you will be informed if your application has been successful by July 19th.
