SASM will sponsor the conference registration fees of 12 deserving students (2 Honours, 5 MSc and 5 PhD students) presenting at the SASM2023 congress in Stellenbosch in September 2023.

The selection criteria are as follows:

1. Student applicants must be the main author/presenter of a poster or a talk at the conference
2. Student applicants must be a paid-up members of the society
3. The academic merit of the student may be taken into account.

How to apply:

Application e-mails must include the following combined into a single pdf attachment:

1. Proof of registration as student at an academic institution
2. Copy of the submitted/accepted abstract with clear indication of the main author/presenter
3. SASM membership number/certificate
4. An abbreviated curriculum vitae (1-2 pages)
5. Full academic transcripts

Please note: Payment of awards will ONLY be made into official University Bank accounts and cannot be paid into a private bank account
