Key Performance Areas *
We seek to appoint a highly motivated, flexible and innovative Technical Officer to fulfill a crucial support role to the Director and the academic staff in IMBM. The key responsibilities will include:
- Administration of all IMBM based research projects
- Financial administration of research and Institute funds, including annual and monthly income and expense reporting
- Inventory control; ordering and procurement of electronic and laboratory equipment and consumables/reagents
- Administration of Institute travel arrangements, including organization of field trips, conferences and international visitors to the Institute
- Maintain the information management system for the Institute
- Implementation of health and safety laboratory practices, including toxic waste management
- Assistance with the training of technical staff
Minimum Requirements *
- A BSc degreee in a Life Sciences discipline
- Experience of working in administrative and financial support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a good command of the English language
- Proficiency in all aspects of MS Office software
- Good numerical skills and the confidence to undertake financial duties
- Ordering and procurement of scientific equipment and reagents
Experience in the following will be an advantage:
- Post graduate qualification in a Life Sciences discipline
