The School of Molecular and Cell Biology seeks an established academic to make a dynamic contribution to the discipline of Microbiology & Biotechnology through an active engagement with both academic and administrative tasks within the School.
Qualifications: Final selection will be made on the basis of scholarship and potential to contribute to the work and reputation of the School. The minimum qualification is a PhD in a field related to microbiology and biotechnology; postdoctoral and academic teaching experience is an advantage. In addition, applicants should demonstrate academic publications in ISI rated journals, proven experience in postgraduate supervision (including at PhD level), and proven experience in service applicable in the university context.
Expertise: A research portfolio and at least 2 years of post-PhD work/postdoctoral experience in the fields of molecular microbiology, bacteriology, virology or applied microbiology/biotechnology.
Duties: Teaching all aspects of the discipline at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and participate in the administration of the School, Faculty and University.
