Key Performance Areas *

We seek to appoint a highly motivated, flexible and innovative Technical Officer to fulfill a crucial support role to the Director and the academic staff in IMBM. The key responsibilities will include:

  • Administration of all IMBM based research projects
  • Financial administration of research and Institute funds, including annual and monthly income and expense reporting
  • Inventory control; ordering and procurement of electronic and laboratory equipment and consumables/reagents
  • Administration of Institute travel arrangements, including organization of field trips, conferences and international visitors to the Institute
  • Maintain the information management system for the Institute
  • Implementation of health and safety laboratory practices, including toxic waste management
  • Assistance with the training of technical staff

Minimum Requirements *

  • A BSc degreee in a Life Sciences discipline
  • Experience of working in administrative and financial support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a good command of the English language
  • Proficiency in all aspects of MS Office software
  • Good numerical skills and the confidence to undertake financial duties
  • Ordering and procurement of scientific equipment and reagents

Experience in the following will be an advantage:

  • Post graduate qualification in a Life Sciences discipline
